A Note From Zena — Where Stories Live in the Details
Share
Painting and finding the perfect vintage frame is pure joy for me. There’s something special about blending nostalgia with forgotten treasures. I’ve always believed that beauty lives in the quiet things—in what’s been overlooked, or set aside, or waiting patiently to be seen again.
As a child, I was lucky to be encouraged by both of my parents to follow my dreams. My mother especially had a big influence on my love of fashion and art. She saw the world in textures and silhouettes, and she passed that gift of perception on to me.
Today, that passion lives in every illustration I create. My work is inspired by centuries of fashion, global sculpture, and the graceful language of time. I pair each drawing with a vintage frame—collected from antique markets and estate sales across California and Europe—so that each piece becomes a one-of-a-kind story you can hang on your wall.
I live and paint between New York and the desert, always surrounded by books, fabrics, found objects, and light. Some days it’s quiet, some days it’s messy, but always, I’m following that thread of wonder I’ve held onto since I was small.
Every piece tells a story—and I’d love for you to join me on this journey. If something speaks to you, or even if you just want to say hello, I’d truly love to hear from you. Drop me a note anytime.
Thank you so much for stopping by.
With love,
Zena
